Live probiotic changed my family’s life and put my daughter on a new path back to health. In the process of elimination diets and figuring out the logic of reflux/GERD, it took me four years to realize the extent to which gut health equals whole health. But I got there. As it turns out, people’s microbiomes rely on a flourishing population of beneficial bacteria. But working to rebalance bacteria wasn’t enough. My family had to change every facet of our habits and embrace a new lifestyle — of health.
One inhibiting factor is bioaccumulation of synthetic materials (e.g., food additives/preserves, microplastics). This happens from within the food supply and from the environment (both indoors and outside). This process perpetuates gut dysbiosis (imbalance) that inhibits the digestive process.
So what primary thing did I do to support her gut health?
What are probiotics?
Probiotics are live microorganisms that are intended to have health benefits when consumed or applied to the body. They can be found in yogurt and other fermented foods, dietary supplements, and beauty products.
Although people often think of bacteria and other microorganisms as harmful “germs,” many are actually helpful. Some bacteria help digest food, destroy disease-causing cells, or produce vitamins. Many of the microorganisms in probiotic products are the same as or similar to microorganisms that naturally live in our bodies.

Entegro Flourish is an artisanal crafted living probiotic. Its diverse strains have been grown naturally together in harmony, whereas the strains of other products are grown individually, freeze-dried, and then combined only upon encapsulation.

Is it safe for babies?
Cofounder of Entegro Health Jered Work recommends low and slow. The general starting dose is 1 mL per 1 year of age. For those less than a year old, the dose shrinks to 3/4 mL for a 9-month old, 1/2 mL for a 6-month-old, and 1/4 mL for a 3-month-old.
Put another way that people frequently go with, many consultants advise starting with one drop and increase by another drop every couple of days until tolerance.
